Clearasil is the first known acne treatment product.

The substances inside Clearasil:

  • The substances inside Clearasil are consist of Benzoyl Peroxide, Resorcinol, Triclosan, and Salicylic Acid. The Peroxide is a peeling agent which can remove dirt and dead skin cells. However, this ingredient can be harsh on the skin since it can cause too much drying, peeling and itching.
  • Resorcinol on the other hand was created to treat eczema or psoriasis. More so, in relation to its’ purpose as an acne treatment, it seems that this ingredient gives no results or effects.
  • Triclosan targets acne-causing bacteria. However, this can cause itching and irritations.
  • Salicylic Acid is the only positive ingredient inside Clearasil. This substance has been proven to clear out pores and to smoothen skin.

The Clearasil treatment:

Like Clean and Clear, Clearasil also works in 3 ways. One, with the use of facial wash, second, with the use of a facial toner and the last would be a facial lotion. The treatment cream would be an additional product that can help you achieve greater results.

The Clearasil website is full of information and clear enough to explain things about acne and acne treatment. However, there are no scientific evidences and proofs which can back-up the manufacturer’s claim on the their product’s effectiveness and safeness.

More so, since the ingredients used in creating Clearasil promotes negative side effects, such results will not help in treating acne. Instead, such results can worsen the current status of your skin. Although excess oil is one of the causes of acne, it is still not a wise step to totally dry the skin with harmful chemicals.

Clearasil has been around for a long time now and there are new innovations and formula which were released in the market today. In relation, Clearasil’s combination of ingredients and substances can be somehow outdated. Moreover, there are other acne treatments to choose from aside from Clearasil; choose the one which is safe to use on any skin type, and the one which is certified effective.
